Jensen Quality Homes would like to thank all those who went through this years 25 entries in the Homes Today Parade of Homes sponsored by the Rutherford County Home Builders Association, Cavalry Banking, Comcast, The Daily News Journal and Miller & Loughry. This year we had two homes entered and are blessed that you chose our Shirley Ann plan as "People's Choice, Best in Show".

The Shirley Ann was both designed and built by Jensen Quality Homes.

2004 Peoples Choice Award

The Shirley-Ann offers a breath-taking open and liveable plan beginning in the front foyer and great room that soar two stories all focusing on the cherry spiral staircase. This unique architectural focal point, a sinuous, graceful double helix that, from every vantag point, rivets the attention and captures the eye with its unsurpassed elegance. But the striking beauty of these stairs is a result of what you won't see. a centerpost. The lack of a centerpost becomes the central focus, drawing the visitor upstairs to the dedicated, theater style, multi-level media room. The upstairs media room can also be accessed directly from the hearth room by a second stairway making quick easy access to the kitchen for popcorn and other late night snacks.

The first floor also features a home office/study tucked off the front entry as well as a first floor playroom and guest bathroom. And last but not least, the master retreat features his and hers closets with cherry closet systems off of the barrel vaulted hallway beckoning you to the master spa. This quiet getaway has a vaulted ceiling, tiled floor, and his and her cherry sink cabbinets with granite counters. A glass block wall separates the whirlpool tub and tiled shower. This very unique bath earned the Judges Award for "Best Single Room Decor", and "Certificate of Commendations" from the Parade of Homes Judges for "Design", "Creativity", and "Use of color/texture and materials". Joyce Pruit and Connie Smith did the faux painting in the master bath which caught every ones eye.

The second floor lounge area provides a gathering place for games, reading, or just relaxing with an overlook to the great room. The media room also received a "Certificate of Commendation", offering a theater style multi-level seating area with built in surround sound. A built in refrigerator completes this perfect environment for enjoying the latest movie releases with family and friends.

To accommodate aging relatives, we've added an `in-law' apartment directly off the hearth room. The apartment received a "Certificate of Commendation", featuring its own kitchen, laundry and sitting area, this attached living space provides separation and privacy while at the same time allowing loved ones to be close and part of the family. The layout was designed specifically to give Grandmother a direct view of the grandkids playing in the back yard pool.

This years Parade of Homes building lot had a very narrow rear yard. We enlisted the help of Cathy Neil of ArtScapes, a renowned courtyard designer to help us show off what could be done with a limited space. We teamed up with Nationally Awarded, Anderson Pools from Murfreesboro to do our pool. The patio area consists of 'stamped concrete' which was done by Jeff Etheridge of Cal-Crete Construction Co.
