It's Simple Really: You get what you pay for. Period.

"The bitterness of poor quality is remembered long after the sweetness of low prices has faded from memory."

Peace of Mind

Choosing a builder for your new home is a big decision. Jensen Quality Homes is licensed by the state of Tennessee, (License # 00051059) and is fully insured. We are active members of the Rutherford County Home Builders Association, the Tennessee Home Builders Association, the National Home Builders Association and the Better Business Bureau. We are committed to building a better community, because we live here. Jensen Quality Homes wants your home building experience to be one you will remember positively for the rest of your life.

Hands-On

Our reputation is on the line with every house that we build. Unlike high volume, mass production builders, Jensen Quality Homes is a small family run business. We recognize that having a home built is a significant "life event" for most people. Each of our homes is important, not just another unit, or number. To ensure the highest levels of quality, we are “hands-on” involved with every detail of your new custom home. Quality doesn’t just happen, it is accomplished by intentional, focused, effort. We vet every sub who is involved with your new home. We have found the best craftsman in each construction discipline and have cultivated a strong healthy relationship with them over the years. In short, we’ve found the good subs and weeded out the bad ones. Some of our craftsman have been with us for more than a decade. It is very likely that you will see us at your construction site while work is being performed, but it is not to ‘check-up on’ our subs and suppliers, it is to discuss unique details of your custom home. We don’t do cookie cutter homes, building the same floor plan over and over. Your custom home will be unique to you, reflecting your lifestyle and tastes. We will be involved in ensuring it is done right and to our levels of quality construction. We love the building process, and our desire is to produce a home that we will all be proud of

Quality is derived from Character
Value is derived from Values

You get what you pay for. Your contractor is due a fair profit for his labors, and you should expect to get the most for your money. Jensen Quality Homes is committed to providing you with a high quality to value ratio. At the end of the day, at the end of the project, your satisfaction is our highest concern.

Our reputation is on the line with every house that we build and we want every one of our customers to be a quality reference.

"Quality is never an accident; it is always the result of high intention, sincere effort, intelligent direction and skillful execution; it represents the wise choice of many alternatives."
- William Foster

Stacked Framing

Not all builders put the time, effort and attention into their houses that Jensen Quality Homes does. These pictures show what goes on behind the walls. They are from a house that was right next to one we were building. Once the sheetrock is up, who will know?

Not everyone would even notice that the floor joists in this picture don't line up with the wall studs. Compare the picture above with the following pictures taken from a Jensen Quality Home.

There is nothing wrong with the construction technique shown above. Code simply requires the joists to be within 4" of the supporting stud. The point is philosophy. Henry Ford put it this way: "Quality means doing it right when no one is looking."

Once the sheetrock is installed, both these houses will "look" the same.
But are they the same? And does it matter to you?

Notice how the weight of the ceiling joists are transferred directly to the wall studs.

The quality is built-in, even if no one ever sees it.

"Quality in a product or service is not what the supplier puts in. It is what the customer gets out and is willing to pay for... Customers pay only for what is of use to them and gives them value."
- Peter Drucker

Construction Technology

Continued education, improving quality. I overheard a builder at a homebuilders meeting one time say ‘We’ve been building houses the same way for years, we don’t need this new stuff.’ The Homebuilders Association had brought in a spokesman to talk about a new technology that would make homes more energy efficient. I wondered if he was still providing rotary phones in his new homes.

Jensen Quality Homes is always looking to improve the homes of our clients. It is actually one of the by-products of only doing custom homes. Since every house we build is new, unique and different from every other home we’ve built, we are always learning new things. Call us for an appointment and we will discuss some of the exciting things we can offer. The Zip System™ and TechShield™ are just two examples of built-in quality techniques we offer to all our clients.

What is important to you?
Price?
Location?
Quality?
Amenities?
Floor Plan?
Master Bath?
Kitchen?
Media Room?

All these things are important, but your answers might be different from someone else's. One is not right, and the other wrong, simply different priorities, resulting in different values. YOU decide what quality is, YOU decide what is important to YOU. Everyone has a budget. And the budget is driven by what is important to you. Your choices, priorities, and preferences will define your home. One might spend thousands of dollars on a Media Room, while someone else might spend those same dollars on a master bathroom.

Don't choose your builder by who gives you the lowest price. Choose your builder by comfort level. Do you trust them? Are your styles compatible? Will you be able to work with them? Do they listen to you?

Choosing your builder is a huge decision. (Builder, Location, and Floor Plan; the three-legged stool, get one wrong and it collapses.) Once you've chosen your builder, then work toward your budget, and a contract price.

Warranty Programs

Every Jensen Quality Home comes with a one year builders warranty. Commitment to quality goes beyond the sale and ensures that 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, one phone call covers all your warranty issues.

Everyone talks about building a quality home but building a house and making it a home requires more than a hammer and saw. Cutting corners may save money, but it doesn't equate to value. A home purchase is one of life's major decisions. Buying a quality house means getting a home that was built with care by professionals who pride themselves in their work.

Customer Quote

The quality of our home is what we’re most pleased with – the integrity and character of Steve Jensen is what brought us to Jensen Quality Homes. When we first thought about building a new home we looked through design catalogs, went to home shows, attended a seminar on timber frame homes and went to construction sites to help get an idea of what we were looking for. What we finally decided on was unique to us. We checked into several builders, and Jensen Quality Homes was our first choice.

Mr. Jensen took our ideas and had an architect complete the design. He wasn’t afraid to try new things and he didn’t try to persuade us one way or another regarding any of our ideas. He wanted our home to be what we wanted it to be. During the building process we did make a few changes and he was flexible and worked with us to make our home exactly what we dreamed it would be.

We’ve heard that building a house is stressful. I guess for us, the most stressful part was picking out light fixtures since there are thousands to choose from. It really wasn’t a stressful process. Mr. Jensen communicated throughout the process on what was coming up and any decisions we would need to be making in the immediate future. I’d like to think that we did our parts as well as he did his.

The contractors working on our home did excellent work. We were very impressed at the quality of the framing, the solid foundation, the brick work, the built in details throughout the house and so much more. All the contractors we met respect Mr. Jensen, took pride in their work and paid attention to details. And it shows in the quality of our home.

If we ever have the opportunity to build again or know someone planning to build, we’d recommend Jensen Quality Homes in a heartbeat.
